Catalyst Schools

About Catalyst Schools:

Located in Chicago, the Catalyst Schools encompass two campuses that provide quality, holistic education to students within the K-12 Common Core Standards. Academics are balanced by social-emotional components of learning that instill effective habits and motivate students. The Catalyst Schools has an integrated STEM curriculum and teachers strive to ensure that young learners gain language fluency and literacy as they progress. The Catalyst approach is one that combines rigor with encouragement, with lessons learned in the classroom tied into broader family and peer relationships, and the concept of being a “good citizen.” Held to elevated performance standards, the school works to ensure accountability in areas such as long term financial and academic sustainability. In addition to students who begin in kindergarten, the Catalyst Schools accept students at other grade levels on a space-available basis each year. A majority of students come from underserved communities and qualify for the free/reduced lunch program. The schools maintain a vibrant arts program in partnership with Ravinia, with the student orchestra at Catalyst Circle Rock having performed at both the Ravinia Festival and Chicago’s Symphony Center.
